Rabbi Yossi Harlig

Rabbi Harlig spent his early years in the presence of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He grew up in Crown Heights, New York and received Semicha,  Rabbinical Ordination at the Lubavitch Headquarters.  Ever since he was a young boy. he dreamed of becoming a Shliach, emissary of the Rebbe. In 1995 he moved to Kendall/Pinecrest to establish Chabad. Eight years later, together with his wife, Nechama, they established the Friendship Circle. Rabbi Harlig’s focus on impacting the community has lead him to become a Hospital Chaplain, Police Chaplain and Prison Chaplain for the Miami Dade Police Dept. and the Pinecrest Police Dept.

 

 

 

Nechama Harlig

Nechama grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She studied in Seminary in Beis Rivkah. NY as well as Touro College and got a degree in psychology and education. In August 1995, inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Nechama moved with her husband, Rabbi Yossi Harlig, to establish the Chabad Center of Kendall/Pinecrest.  Together, they co-direct the Chabad Center and the Friendship Circle which they established in 2004. Nechama oversees all of the programs of both organizations. They are blessed with nine children. Nechama is passionate about helping people in the community, teaching  about Judaism and making an impact on people’s lives. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, nature, walking and biking.

 

 

                     

 Rabbi Moshe Harlig

  Rabbi Moshe Harlig, son of Rabbi Yossi Harlig, returns to Kendall not only as a native son but as a dynamic rabbinic leader—living out his dream of serving as a rabbi in the very community where his journey began. . A product of world-renowned yeshivas in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York, Rabbi Moshe combines rigorous scholarship with a compassionate approach to community engagement. His wide-ranging experience includes leading Shabbat and holiday services, teaching Torah in correctional facilities, and directing Jewish educational programming for children at summer camps. He has also spent time visiting people from all walks of life, helping them put on tefillin and inspiring them with meaningful conversations. As a mentor to younger students in yeshiva and school settings, he played a key role in guiding their personal and spiritual growth. With a gift for building meaningful relationships and a deep passion for spreading the teachings of the Torah, Rabbi Moshe is committed to making Judaism relevant, accessible, and inspiring to everyone he meets. As he takes on youth programming and outreach at Chabad of Kendall/Pinecrest, the community can look forward to a future of energetic and heartfelt leadership.

 

 

Chayale Harlig

Chayale Harlig, originally from Fort Lauderdale, brings a vibrant energy and deep passion for Jewish education to our community. She studied Jewish Studies and Education in Miami, Jerusalem, and New York City, building a strong foundation in both Torah learning and practical teaching.  With years of experience working with children and teens in camp and summer programs, Chayale is dedicated to creating meaningful, fun, and inspiring Jewish experiences for the next generation. She is excited to lead the youth and teen programming at Chabad, helping our young community members grow in their Jewish pride, connection, and joy.  When she’s not planning creative programs, Chayale is a proud mom to two wonderful girls who keep her on her toes and fill her life with laughter and love.
