At Torah Tots Preschool, we recognize parents and guardians as essential partners in a child's early education. We are committed to maintaining open, ongoing, and meaningful communication to foster a collaborative and transparent relationship between families and our staff. In accordance with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing standards, we offer multiple channels for engagement, information-sharing, and involvement in the preschool community.
- Regular Communication with Parents
- Monthly newsletters are distributed to provide families with important updates, curriculum highlights, reminders, and upcoming events.
- Daily communication tools will be to share:
- Meals and snacks
- Nap times
- Diapering/toileting
- Learning activities
- Behavioral notes or concerns
- Families are informed immediately of any incidents, injuries, illnesses, or emergencies involving their child, as required by Florida licensing
- A written discipline policy is provided to each parent upon enrollment and must be signed to confirm receipt, as mandated by DCF.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Formal conferences are held at least twice per year to discuss the child's developmental progress, strengths, goals, and areas of concern.
- Teachers maintain developmental observation records as part of DCF guidelines to inform discussions with families.
- Parents may request additional conferences at any time by contacting the classroom teacher or school director.
- Parent Access & Rights (Per Florida Licensing)
- Parents have the right to access the facility at any time during operating hours to visit their child or observe the classroom.
- Copies of the DCF Child Care Facility Handbook, school policies, daily schedules, and menus are available for review upon request.
- All parents must complete and sign a DCF "Know Your Child Care Facility" brochure and receive the DCF Flue Brochure at enrollment, in compliance with state law.
- Volunteer & Engagement Opportunities
- Torah Tots offers parent volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including:
- Classroom support and story time
- Participation in holiday celebrations and special programs
- Assistance with school events, fundraisers, or field trips (if applicable)
- All Volunteers must:
- Be approved by the Director
- Sign in and out of the facility
- Remain under staff supervision at all times while in the classroom
- Comply with DCF guidelines if volunteering on a recurring basis (which may require background screening depending on frequency)
- Torah Tots offers parent volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including:
- Parent Feedback and Program Evaluation
- Parents are invited to complete annual satisfaction surveys to provide feedback on the preschool experience, staff performance, and program quality.
- The administration is available for meetings by appointment to discuss any concerns or questions.
